THIS JOURNAL IS FRIENDS ONLY
Feb. 18th, 2005 | 10:21 pm
All of the more recent journal entries for this journal are at a friends only security level!
To read my journal, you must:
1. Have an account at livejournal.com (in other words, have a journal of your own) You can register for free at https://www.livejournal.com/create.bml
2. Be on my friends list. If you are not on my friends list now, leave a comment on this entry telling me who you are and I will make you a friend!
3. You must be logged in to see the journal entries. Once you are logged in and you come back to my journal, OR if you have me on YOUR friends list and view your friends page, the entries should appear.
Tired of always having to log in? There is a way to stay permanently logged in, unless you manually log yourself out! Here is how to do it.
1. Make sure you are logged out.
Go to livejournal.com and click the Log Out button at the top right of the page if you are currently logged in.

2. Navigate to the login page.
DO NOT LOGIN AT THE TOP RIGHT OF THE LIVEJOURNAL PAGE IN THE QUICK LOGIN BOX. You must log in on the login page at http://www.livejournal.com/login.bml.

3. Login with Browser Expiration set to Never.
Fill in your username and password and make sure that you set Browser Expiration to Never! Be careful if you share this computer with others and are afraid that others will log in and see the entries, or post on your own journal! If your computer has seperate user log-ins, then you don't have to worry as this browser expiration thing will only apply to the user currently logged into Windows.

A Quick UJournal Newsflash

To those of you who previously owned a ujournal.
Your ujournal stuff can be found at www.aboutmylife.net/users/uj_YOUROLDNAME so mine would be www.aboutmylife.net/users/uj_tedhead
For some reason, UJournal is dead and isn't coming back, but aboutmylife was kind enough to back accounts up for them. When you go to your address, it may give you an error like "This user has messed up his template" or something like that. To solve this, just go to www.aboutmylife.net and sign in just like you normally would on your other journal, then go to "Modify Journal" on the left and change all of your layout. Example, I changed all my page views to "Generator". Then your journal should be viewable. HOWEVER, you will probably notice that a lot of the later entries will be missing! Everything after May in my journal is erased from it. But hey, at least you still have whatever is there.
This is why I say it is so important that if you want to hold onto these journal entries for a long time in your life, BACK THEM UP ON YOUR COMPUTER. I lost all those UJournal entries on the site, but I luckilly backed them up on my computer, so I still have them. The address for backing up your journal is www.livejournal.com/export.bml or if you are backing up what is left of your ujournal stuff, www.aboutmylife.net/export.bml. Just choose how you will export it (XML is easier to read in my opinion) and then once the page is generated, just click File, then Save As, and put it somewhere on your computer.
That's all! Mellownade will update the addresses... sometime.
